No protective gear can prevent all injury, but this durable, well padded set really helps avoid the bumps, bruises, pain and injuries associated with intense street dance styles where you spend a lot of time upside down, or spinning on your hands, elbows and knees. The pads have a soft cover that spins very well on wood, vinyl and other smooth surfaces, but spinning on rough surfaces like concrete may damage them over time. This pad set is highly recommended for all Hip Hop Dancers, interested in saving their elbows and knees from serious wear and tear.

ELBOW PAD SIZING: The CypherStyles Elbow Pads are are designed for a Small or Medium Sized User. To guarantee a good fit just wrap a piece of string around your elbow and measure how much string you need to completely circle your elbow comfortably. If it's less then 11.5 Inches or 28 Centimeters these pads will be a good fit for you. If your elbow is larger, these pads will not be a comfortable fit and we'd recommend our adjustable "PRIMO" elbow pads.

KNEE PAD SIZING: The anti-friction, elastic kneepads provide a comfortable and secure fit for almost all users, ideal for knees 12-16 Inches or 30-40 Centimeters around. Contoured padding along the base of the pad gives you extra knee protection for fast drops.

PROTECTIVE GEAR & INJURIES:

I love training elbow freezes and drops, but if I'm not practicing on a mat or thick carpet by elbows get beat up. These pads make it very comfortable to train elbow moves, are almost weightless, break in quickly and are easy to spin on. The fit most people but you should check that your elbow is less than 11.5 inches around or else they will be too tight on you. If you want a larger pad check out the Primo, but these are nice because they don't get in the way, you can wear them to battles or practice and not even notice them until you do elbow moves and they don't hurt at all. When I first starting breaking I would practice knee spins without pads on stone and wood floors. After less than a week of this I had fluid, pain and giant bruises in my knees. The same thing happened when I first starting learning knee drops and screwed them up at first and hit my knee instead of landing sideways on the toe of my shoe. I ended up mostly avoiding knee moves because I was sick of beating up my knees and I never found a knee pad that felt right. I tried dozens of different knee pads and I finally came across a great one for street dancing. It's has extra padding at the base, looks good, provides great protection for your knees in a comfortable, lightweight pad that stays on securely but doesn't get in the way of your dancing.
